Undoubtedly energy policies and security have always been and will indeed remain one of the most important challenges and issues throughout the 21st century and all countries place the utmost importance and priority to energy sector in their long term prospective plans.
Policies such as: oil and gas fields developments, technological developments to increase production recovery factors of existing oil and gas fields, renewable energy sources, developing alternative energy, conservation measures in energy consumptions, protection of environment and developing of green energy, developing financial market and institutions for financing and investing in oil and gas upstream and downstream sectors and other sources of energy.
In addition to the above listed policies, development of necessary infrastructures for the construction of pipelines and transportation of energy facilities are aimed to secure and maintain the flow of energy around the world.
Today it is crystal clear that global energy security is a common objective and goal of all nations, and can play a vital role in bringing peace and tranquillity in the world.
In this context, I am glad to inform you that NICO has played a significant role in securing world energy needs through investment and financing of development of oil and gas in both upstream and downstream sectors, not only inside Iran but also outside the country, including Shah Deniz gas field project in Azerbaijan republic,
Rhum and Hood oil and gas fields in the North Sea, Madras (India) refinery and fertilizer companies. The company has played actively in trading oil, gas and oil products as a reliable partner in securing sources of energy since its establishment in 1991.
I am delighted that this message, coincides with the beginning of the Iranian New Year, referred by Iranian and other Farsi speaking countries as ‘’Now-Ruz’’, that begins on March 21st, and it is the beginning of the spring.
NICO as a global energy player is willing and committed to play an active role in participation with oil and gas companies, contractors, engineering consultancy firms, oil and gas equipment manufacturers, construction companies, trading firms, and financial and banking institutions to perform its international responsibilities towards the creation of a secure energy market.
The future will in fact present many challenges as evidenced by the current global financial turmoil. To meet these and other challenges, it is imperative that energy companies are adequately prepared through their abilities to embrace change and take up new opportunities.
